Holistic Orchard Network Membership

Membership in the Holistic Orchard Network makes certain the community orchard movement.

Our intentions are to keep all aspects of this site open to everyone. From the free newsletter to the discussion forum to perusing cutting edge articles to research participation. We are asking that appreciative users of all this wonderful information provide ongoing support to make this sharing possible. Our Golden Apples pledge drive allows inspired apple lovers to support the growing of healthy fruit in any amount they might feel inspired to contribute. Growers and orchard-related businesses form the true backbone of the Holistic Orchard Network by becoming full-fledged members.

Basic membership is achieved once $100 in cumulative donations has been received. Community Orchardist members are eligible for a listing in our regional directory to healthy local fruit. . . this is how apple lovers are going to find you. Home Orchardist members can participate that much more in our exciting online community for grower interaction. Business members will be designated by an apple symbol next to your listing within Grower Resources . . . with encouragement given to all to support your business in turn. This collaborative effort makes useful connections for those who support the cause!

All contributions will be acknowledged in the next edition of the Community Orchardist newsletter. We can send you a receipt for your investment in the Holistic Orchard Network (if requested) as well. Network support can be deducted as a legitimate business expense -- commercial growers categorize such as 'advertising' or 'ongoing education' or 'membership in a professional organization.'

The next step for community orchardist members takes us on to the details of who you be. We need your full array of contact information to create your community orchard listing. It's your call if you want us to post your phone number and/or email address on the world-wide web. Orchard websites are encouraged for this is the best way to convey to fruit lovers what you offer, the label you choose to describe your management approach, and pertinent marketing information.

We do post logo graphics so please send us that personalized artwork (in j-peg format, preferably) that expresses your unique orcharding spirit.

We ask that all members desiring a community orchard listing agree to certain Holistic Core Values. We expect you to openly share with interested customers all management choices deemed necessary on a particular orchard site. Many of our growers do not use any chemicals at all and are thus good resources for sharing holistic alternatives to more allopathic means.

Then of course come the responsibilities of membership:

• enthusiasm for the incredible teachings of the orchard
• sharing ecosystem observations with other growers
• participating in holistic orchard trials
• feedback on the postings of this network
• ongoing financial support in years to come
• love of this good earth and its giving trees
